I don’t know why it has taken me so long to get this post up as ‘All That Glitters’ by MAC is my absolute cannot live without eyeshadow! It is described as a ‘beige with golden pearl’ but I prefer to think of it as a ‘instant wide eye wonder product’. Now I should say in the pan this doesn’t look anything special, a pretty champagne shade but something that might get overlooked quite easily amongst the plethora of shades MAC have.
I personally asked around on twitter for a really good champagne shade and the one thing people kept recommending was ‘all that glitters’, when lots of beauty obsessed girlies say soemthing is good I sit up and listen! I went to my local MAC counter and when I asked for it the MUA working told me how amazing this shade was and how it was there absolute favourite MAC eyeshadow (I wont lie- this made me pretty impatient to get home and get this bad boy on my lids!)
The thing I love about this shade is that you can wear it as a brow bone highlight colour, as a crease colour to smoke out a darker eye look and (my favourite way to wear it) all over the lid for a pretty day makeup look. I usually wear a Maybelline Color Tattoo either in ‘On and On Bronze’ or ‘Permanent Taupe’ which I dab on with my fingers blending to the brow bone for a light wash of colour. I then take a MAC 217 brush and just dab ‘All That glitters’ on the middle on my eyelid, it sounds weird but the effect is amazing- my eyes look bigger and my makeup looks really fresh.
The shadow itself is one of the best MAC do in terms of pay off, it is very finely milled which lets you buff it into the eyes or pat it on for a more intense effect. For such a finely milled product I was surprised at how little fall out this shadow had- it also lasts easily over 8 hours for me (but I do wear a base shade as a sort of primer as described above!)
I would 100% recommend this shade especially if you want to try out a rose gold sort of makeup look but find pinky toned makeup makes your eyes look sore (I had quite a few comments about this actually- would you like to see a post on how to incorporate rose gold makeup into your look?) it truly is my favourite eyeshadow and one I will repurchase again and again!
