GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick in Mandarina

18/02/2013 · beauty · 0

GOSH Velvet Touch Lipstick £4.49
GOSH isn’t a brand I am too familiar with, I do love the Boombastic Mascara from them but I find I tend to just walk past the display in Superdrug and head to brands I know a little better.  As soon as I spotted this peachy toned lipstick though I just had to have it, it was the only one left on the display and I just swiped it 007 style before another girl could grab it! The velvet touch lipsticks have a lovely creamy smooth texture, I would say they feel somewhere between and Lipstick and a Lipgloss and are very hydrating on the lips. You need a fair bit of prep work for this lipstick to look it’s best though, I applied it after using my Lush lip scrub and Nuxe Lip Balm which definitely helped stop it from clinging to any dry bits! The thing I liked the most about the lipstick was how true to the bullet the colour was. When I swatched it I was really surprised at how pigmented it was, usually coral/peach colours look bright in the bullet but apply quite sheer, that definitely wasn’t the case with Mandarina. The only slight negative with this particular shade is that it doesn’t have great staying power, I would say it lasted about 3-4 hours without needing to be touched up, I did notice though that once it started to disappear it did leave a slight tint to the lips which I really liked! At the moment the Velvet Touch Lipsticks are just £4.49 which I think is incredible value as they are excellent quality! I will definitely be picking up a few more shades, without getting over enthusiastic I really can’t tell the difference quality wise between them and my MAC lipsticks which is pretty impressive!
What do you think of the GOSH brand?
Have you got any recommendations for me to try out next?
