Maybelline Superstay Tint Gloss Review
I have to admit I still feel rather intimidated by lipsticks, I think it is the thought of one ending up all over my face or on my teeth and not realising until I have got home from a long day of weird stares and snickering from strangers.
Since I started this blog I have definitely got braver with the products I try and the looks I attempt, but I was still excited to try a tint gloss in place of a full on lip colour. The Maybelline Superstay Tint Gloss promises to stay put for 10 hours and is a clever mix of a lip tint with a glossy appearance.
I have to say I did like the colour on this one and it lasted near on 10 hours without touch ups but if I am honest it didn’t appear very glossy to me? I was also not impressed with the applicator wand, these wands have appeared on glosses before (remember the one with the hole in the middle which apparently helped to distribute the gloss more evenly?) but I actually found it quite fiddly and ended up getting a bit of the tint around my lips which just looked messy and was hard to remove!
If you are looking for a colour that is really strong and will last all day (or night) without the fear of smudging like you get with a conventional lip colour then you will love this. I wouldn’t say the gloss was particularly strong but maybe this isn’t a bad thing? Too much gloss and I think it would look a bit cheap actually. You know I just realised I am not sounding particularly enthused either way with this one….sorry for that! I think it is because I expected something a bit more than a conventional tint and this looks the same as other tints I have tried except it does have a very good pigment.
Take a look at me wearing it in Lasting Pink.
What do you think? Can you see what I mean about the lack of ‘gloss’ or difference between this and a conventional lip tint?
Overall I probably would repurchase this based on wanting a lip tint with staying power but I wouldn’t repurchase it based on it being a glossy tint.
If you want to try a Maybelline Superstay Tint Gloss you can purchase them here and they cost £6.99!

Ooh I’ll definitely give one a try then!! They are really nice for a good quality lip stain but yeah the gloss factor wasn’t there for me!! xx
