CANTERBURY BEAUTY / LIFESTYLE / TRAVEL

Spring Home Wishlist

I think we can safely say that spring has finally sprung here in the U.K, it might still be artic outside but the blossom trees are out and it’s actually light past 5pm! Around this time of year I get that spring clean rush and want to have a big switch up of my homeware and put away the more wintery bits that have been lurking about for the 1000000 years winter has lasted!

I’m really drawn to warmer tones now, case in point this beautiful abstract print rug from La Redoute. I love the mixture of yellow/terracotta/mint/pink, literally all of my favourite colours right now and so easy to style, I am just debating if I want to invest in the biggest size and have it under my bed or get the little one and have it as a sort of bed runner, these are the big decisions I am making right now (not really…well kind of really)

Taking from that colour palette I love the mint green pop of colour in this planter with a very on trend face design, I am sure this is based on a super fancy designer version but this one is a steal and comes in a few colours if whimsical plant pots are your bag!

I currently have some cotton blend dusky pink curtains which I do like but I think we are all a bit over the ‘millennial pink everywhere’ craze right? I like the idea of a colour refresh with these gorgeous ochre velvet curtains, the colour works really well for spring/summer and the velvet finish is a nice touch (unless of course you can’t touch velvet…sorry!)

Wall lights that don’t need to be wired into the walls are something of an urban legend, if you rent you know that most landlords aren’t into you doing questionable electrical work on their properties so table lamps are kind of the renters only choice but Made.com have come up trumps with this gorgeous ‘plug in like a normal lamp and then screw on the wall’ brass lamp. I think I might invest in two of these for either side of my bed, they give me fancy hotel vibes…

These gorgeous little cushions have been reduced to £10 so of course I ordered a couple, I’m deciding between having them as bed accents or using them in my office as I have a rather bare looking leather chair-bed that needs some sprucing up!

I spotted this brass fan mirror and instantly knew I needed it as a bougie bathroom mirror, it’s absolute perfection and makes me want to wallpaper the bathroom and really give it that boutique feel (clearly I want to live in a hotel)

That leads me nicely onto this absolute stunner of a headboard, I got it when it went on sale (it’s gone back to full price now which is weird but keep and eye out for discounts!) and it’s perfection, very lightweight so great for renters if you want to have it hanging on the wall (you’d need to as it doesn’t have bed slats on it) It’s absolutely beautiful and gives a really light and airy feel to the room, my main concern with a headboard was that it would make the room feel bulky so this is perfect.

Would you like me to do a bedroom tour?

I’ve worked quite hard on the design so I’d be happy to share the finished result!
