Today I am sharing the Maybelline Color Drama Intense Velvet Lip Pencil in Light It Up with you! The shade ‘Light It Up’ is a true classic red, I love that it’s not too cool toned (good for pale skinned girls!) and not too warm toned either, it sits somewhere in the middle and I think it makes the perfect universal classic red lip shade! Application is just a dream, the pencil formula makes it easy to ‘line’ the lips and then fill in, it’s not too soft or creamy which makes it sit really nicely on the lips and the finish is fully opaque and semi-matte, it feels creamy and comfortable but there is not glossy finish which is perfect!
The product itself is so impressive, it lasts all day on me with just a little touch up in the afternoon, the colour doesn’t bleed and that’s something that is so important for me as I always feel super conscious of wearing a bolder lip in case it ends up all over my face! Once it does fade away it leaves a beautiful red stain to the lips. This is probably the first full on red lip I would feel confident enough to wear in the day time without worrying about how it looked every 2 minutes! I purchased a couple last week after reading some really good reviews. Really very pleased with them both.I ordered 2, nude perfection, minimalist + a jumbo sharpener as they were Buy one get one half price at boots and superdrug. So for a tenner I got 2 really nice lipsticks and a sharpener.
This colour is stunning! I keep seeing these little lip pencils and mean to pick a couple up, I definitely need this shade! Looks lovely on you.
Still waiting for Maybelline to get this collection to Canada ! I’ve heard so many great things about it and the colour/pigmentation is just incredible. x

I have been wanting to try these for a long time now but somehow they never managed to end in my basket. Your review really makes me want to try them out as I love a good red lipstick but I am always cautious of it smudging everywhere. x
