L’oreal L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks: Review & Swatches

30/03/2014 · beauty · 0

Hi girlies! Today I wanted to share with you a new release from L’oreal: the L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks! Liquid lipsticks are everywhere at the moment but most of the formulas are matte, these ones have a very glossy finish with a balm like consistency which makes them perfect for dry lips! The range has been split into 2 different finishes ‘the statement shades’ and ‘the subtle shades’ I have chosen 3 of the ‘subtle shades’ because I wasn’t too sure if I’d like the glossy finish (I am not a gloss fan usually!) So the three shades I have are:
600: Nude Vibrato
101: Rose Melody
500: Molto Mauve
All three shades have very good colour payoff, obviously the ones I chose were more subtle but they were really beautiful shades that showed up very well (better than some nude lipsticks do!)  which I really liked. The finish is very glossy but not at all sticky, they feel smooth and nourishing on the lips but maybe a tad heavy- I personally don’t like the feeling of a heavy lip product and these felt a little suffocating which would be my only con for them!
I have to say though the more I wore them the less I noticed that, think of it as that feeling from a thick lip balm! I imagine with the bolder shades that would feel quite reassuring to know the product hasn’t moved or bled!  Lasting-power wise they stayed on for around 3-4 hours of normal day wear, 1-2 when eating/drinking so not the best lasting power but they are so nourishing you don’t mind re-applying! All in all I would definitely recommend these if you suffer with dry lips and want to try a glossy finish lip lacquer, I will definitely be trying out some of the bolder shades for summer!
The L’oreal L’Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks cost £8.99 each and are available here.

i thought id really like these but i HATED them, i definitely wouldnt recommend the bolder colours. i got one neutral and one in red and the red just looks bizarre. it sat on my lips and the colour wouldn’t stain the inside of my lips like a normal lipstick would. and it felt SO heavy on my lips, i imagine transfer onto cups would be gross.

after rimmel apocalips and now these, i think it’s safe to say that lip laquers aren’t for me!
