MAC Star Violet

11/12/2013 · beauty · 0

Following on from my previous MAC eyeshadow reviews (sumptuous olive and cranberry) today I wanted to show you a relatively new one which I have been loving called Star Violet. I hadn’t read any reviews of it online and actually picked it based on an in-store swatching session I had! It is described by MAC as a pinky-brown plum which it pretty accurate but I just refer to it as ‘cranberry light’. If you have looked at Cranberry and just been too nervous to try it out or found it a bit too ‘out there’ then this could be the perfect eyeshadow for you!
Formula wise this is a satin finish, it is finely milled and the colour pay off is good but not the best I have ever used. Once I broke my pan in (as in I used it 100 times!) I found the colour was much stronger and easy to apply. I would describe it as a duo chrome effect, it is definitely a pink base but in some lights in can look a bit purple and in others you can see the red/brown in it. I wont go on and on because in truth it’s just a really wearable version of Cranberry and it’s definitely one I would recommend if your’e looking for a new bolder shade to add to your collection!
Star Violet costs £10 for the pan version £12 for the individual and is available here.

That’s such a pretty colour, kind of wish I’d seen that and bought that instead of Cranberry!

Gorgeous shade. I have never seen this before in Mac – I am normally drawn to the more neutral shades. I will swatch it next time I am in store

Such a gorgeous shade! I have a weakness for cranberry-esque shades so I will definitely be checking this out!

I started to use this kind of shades when a blogger mate told me they would look nice on my blue eyes. She wasn’t wrong in my case nor in yours!
    xoxo
