Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams

01/09/2013 · beauty · 0

Sleek are one of my favourite brands and for those of you not familiar with them they have a well deserved reputation for great colour payoff, gorgeous collections and really reasonable prices. I have been waiting forever for these to arrive in my local Superdrug after spotting them online so when I saw them being put out I just swooped in and grabbed two! I chose Petal which is a light pink and Party Pink which is a strong (almost neon!) coral shade.
Liquid lipsticks are a ‘does what it says in the name’ sort of product, they have the colour payoff of a lipstick but apply like a gloss. The doe foot applicator is pretty handy and liquid lip colours can be quite hard to work with. These ones in particular dry to a matt finish very quickly so you have to be pretty precise with your application, I also found that they cannot be layered to if you miss a bit and go to top up you get big patches which are not attractive! Safe to say it took me a fair few tries to get used to using these but once I did I was in love with the vivid colours and the lasting power! They just don’t budge and I actually found the only way to remove them was with Bioderma (fyi Bioderma does not taste good!)
Petal looks slightly more mauve in the bottle but actually applies like a warm baby pink, I think its a beautiful colour paired with a smoky eye and I was surprised at how easily it covered my natural lip colour which is very red and often shows through in lipsticks. Party Pink is definitely misleading, it is most certainly not pink- I would say it is an orangey/red which looks fab against blue eyes and I think it’s a pretty good dupe for the Hourglass Riviera shade that everyone loves!
I am really pleased with the quality of these new liquid lipsticks, they are a tad tricky to get used too but once you do they are really great quality and last forever- I only wish I had had them when I was on holiday!
Sleek Matte Me Lip Creams cost £4.99 and are available here!

They look lovely on you. The darker pink is my favourite, I can see these being a big hit.
