My Topshop Lipstick Collection

05/09/2013 · beauty · 0

OK ‘collection’ is a bit of a stretch as I actually just own 4 but I thought it would be a nice post to put together as I know a lot of people don’t have the makeup near them so would be buying online and it isn’t always easy to get a good colour swatch. I have to say I am a massive fan of Topshop makeup and the lipsticks are no exception, creamy with great colour pay off, reasonable lasting power and an extensive range of shades they are definitely up there with some of my more high end lipsticks.

So the 4 shades I own are:

1. Charmed: A true coral with a velvet finish. This lipstick looks beautiful as just a light wash of colour but it can also be built up to be a strong peachy shade. The finish is a little chalky which may not be to everyone’s taste but it looks very fresh and different too any other shade I have in my lipstick collection. You do need to do a bit of prep work for this one, a lip scrub and a dab of balm help to make it apply more smoothly. Lasting power is average, over a full day I reapply this 2/3 times.

2. Innocent: A mauve/pink with a velvet finish. This is the only pink in my Topshop collection and it’s just stunningly beautiful. It has a mauve tint to it which stops it being too milky/babydoll and looks absolutely gorgeous with smoky eyes. It is a universal, perfect for all skin tones and all season’s lipstick. Lasting power is average, over a full day I reapply this 1/2 times.

3. Macaroon: A Bright Pinky/Coral with a velvet finish. A really nice shade as a lot of pinky corals can be a bit too much of a clash against my skintone, this looks quite creamy and is a great day lipstick, the perfect pop of colour without being too much. Lasting power is good, over a full day I reapply this once.

4. Oh La La: A Bright Coral/Blush with a velvet finish. This is my favourite shade of the bunch, against my dark hair and pale skin it actually gives the impression that I have a tan. In the bullet it looks more orange but once applied it has a much more subtle coral finish. A hard one to describe but a definite staple in my makeup routine! Lasting power is good, over a full day I reapply this once.
