The Top 5: Coral Nails

I am a massive fan of coral, in fact it makes up a rather large chunk of my makeup collection! I also think it is perfect for summer nails, there are tons and tons of coral shades on the market atm and I thought I would share my top 5 with you. All are available in your local Boots/Superdrug and they are all slightly different takes on the classic coral!

1. MAX Factor Glossfinity in Cute Coral: £5.99

This is the lightest of the coral polishes I have, it is almost a salmon pink actually. The formula is similar to the Barry M gelly hi shines but you do need 3 coats for a fully opaque finish. I think this is the shade that would suit pale girls the most, it’s a very flattering and creamy coral!

2. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine ‘Passion Fruit’ £3.99

OK technically this is classed as a pink but there are definite undertones of orange which makes this a bright coral in my eyes, plus this looks amazing with a tan! The formula is the best on the high street, shiny chip free nails for over a week? Um yes please!

3. Essie ‘Sunday Funday’ £7.99 (mine is the mini which is part of a trio set £12.99)

Like this shade? Stock up now it’s limited edition. It is the girliest coral of the bunch and has a golden shimmer running through it which makes it a holiday essential in my eyes! I find it is super flattering on my pale skintone but it also looks gorgeous on my Mum who is naturally olive skinned. The perfect coral for summer!

4. Look Beauty Nail Pop in ‘Juice’ £5

If you love the idea of Sunday Funday but you don’t like the shimmery finish than this one from Look Beauty is a pretty great dupe! It is a gorgeous watermelon coral and is another universal suits all shade. I love the Look Beauty Nail Pop’s formula, they stay chip free even when I am too lazy to apply a top coat!

5. MUA ‘Bright Coral’ £1

This is an absolute total steal at £1. The formula is brilliant, I only needed one coat of it which makes it only second to the gelly hi shines! The colour is definitely on the pinker end of the coral spectrum but it is a little more orange than the Barry M ‘passion fruit’ so if your looking for a bright pinky coral don’t overlook this one, I am loving the MUA £1 polishes, they are great to pop in your bag for your holiday- plus if you lose them theres no ‘BUT IT WAS ESSIE LIMITED EDITION!!’ tantrums to be had 😉
