It seems like ages since any decent new mascaras have been launched here in the U.K and now two come along at once! I am of course talking about the Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara and Rimmels latest offering (more on that one next week!) The Mega Plush Mascara is described as being a “Revolutionary Gel- mousse Formula, Mega Volume No Brittle feel, flexor- brush Massive + supple volume, Contains 40% less hard waxes for massive yet supple lashes, never stiff, never brittle.” So big claims from Maybelline but did this live up to the hype?
In a word…yes! I really enjoyed using this mascara, the black pigment is truly one of the best I have ever seen yet it somehow managed to still look quite creamy so it wasn’t too harsh against my pale skintone! The wand is perfect for catching all the little corner lashes and it picks up a decent amount of product without causing any clumps. The overall effect is that of thick lashes full of volume from the root and a great ‘false lash’ effect. Even more impressive is the finish, my lashes felt really soft and definitely not brittle or sort of ‘crunchy’ like some mascaras can be. It actually felt like I had nothing on my eyes which was great, I can see this being a really popular holiday mascara as it is so lightweight but it gives such a dramatic finish! All in all this is one of my all time favourite mascaras and as you know by now I have A LOT of them!
