Schwarzkopf Color Mask
So I thought I would show you this new hair dye I picked up in Superdrug. I really loved the concept of a hair dye in a mask form which just seemed like it would be a lot more nourishing than the standard offerings (although I know they are probably the same just in different packaging!) The instructions were really simple, just squeeze the tube of developer into the bigger pot and shake 40 times to mix the two products, then apply from root to tip concentrating on any problem bits (grey hair or in my case the bleached ends).

Here are some pics of it in action:
So first things first I used shade ‘568 Chestnut Brown’ which is a reddish brown on the packaging. I wanted to just add a bit of warmth to my hair colour which was looking a bit dull, I also wanted to cover up the very last bit of my bleached ends from the Ombre hair that I have had for about 7 months. I had my hair cut and nearly all of it was taken away but there was still about an inch lurking at the bottom! I would say this dye does a fab job and covering up all sorts of hair sins, I find dyes can be quite patchy or the colour can be quite strong at the roots and then very light at the tips, this providing a good even coverage and even my bleached ends went the same colour as my roots.
Application wise it is a tad gimmicky, the product itself has a consistency which is somewhere between a conditioner and your average hair dye, I actually thought it would be more like a mask and found it wasn’t quite as thick as I had imagined. It was also a little messy to use, I am usually pretty good at containing the hair dye disaster area but I got this all over my t-shirt and a bit on my desk (I have no idea how!) I would still say it was my favourite dye to date which is saying a lot as I am no stranger to the hair dye aisle! This is perfect if your looking to get good even coverage, your trying to cover a lot of greys or are having a colour change, I would say it is the next best thing to going to have it done professionally.
You can see some before and after pics of the Chestnut Brown shade below:

As you can see it’s quite a subtle change but I am in love with the colour!
What do you think?
Have you tried any great hair products recently?
Let me know!

  1. It looks lovely! I really love chesnut browns and favor them over any colour on the shelf. It really adds a nice warmth to hair, especially in Summer. I’ve never tried this dye, I’ve been really getting into the foam dyes, but I might try this out next time my hair needs doing 🙂

  3. I have a review on this same shade as well 🙂 Mine turned out a lot more red but that’s because I have a natural strong red pigment in my hair. Looks lovely on you! Anyways, in case you want to check it out, here’s the link to my post 🙂 http://thebelleadventures.blogspot.com/2013/10/review-schwarzkopf-color-mask.html
