Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick: 03 Peche Cosy

06/02/2013 · beauty · 0

I thought I would show you this new lipstick I picked up in Boots last week from Bourjois. I am constantly searching for the perfect coral/peach lip colour, I want something that will match my NARS Orgasm blush and I have yet to find that perfect shade!

Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks £7.99

The Bourjois Rouge Edition lipsticks are a new range of which there are a total of 18 shades which have been split into 3 groups of 9 called ‘Preppy’, ‘Colour Block’ and ‘Night Out’. Here is a list of the shades available in the three groups!
Preppy (nudes)

01 Cristal Minimal (clear shimmer)
02 Beige Trench (pinky beige)
03 Peche Cosy (creamy peach)
04 Rose Tweed (rose toned beige)
05 Brun Boheme (dusky pink/brown)

06 Rose Coquette (blue tinted pink with pearl)
 Colour Block (brights)

07 Fuchsia Graffiti  (bright fuschia)
08 Rose Studio (true pink)
09 Orange Pop Up (true orange)
10 Rouge Buzz (bright orange/red)
11 Fraise Remix (warm pink)
12 Rose Neon (cool pink)

Night Out (darks)
13 Rouge Jet Set (classic cool red)
14 Pretty Prune (cool plum)
15 Rouge Podium (warm terracotta/brown)
16 Brun Cosmopolitain  (chocolate brown)
17 Rose Millesime (golden pink)
18 Violine Strass (warm plum)

I have only tried one so far and have mixed feelings about it if I am honest. Shade 03 Peche Cosy from the Preppy (nudes) collection is a creamy peach shade. When I swatched it in store I was really impressed with the colour pay off, I have quite red lips so it takes a fair bit of prep work to get a true representation of the colour! When I applied this I noticed it was a lot more sheer than I had first thought, the colour didn’t really translate as well on application. I tried to use a base colour (if your like me and have quite red lips then try applying some concealer or foundation before applying the lip colour!). This really helped but I wasn’t completely sold on the colour, it was more nude than peach in my opinion, I did like the shade and it is a very flattering nude but I wasn’t overally impressed with the quality of the lipstick and actually found it a little suffocating on if that makes sense? I would still be interested in trying a few more shades before making an opinion on the entire range, but I have to say I was quite disappointed with this particular lipstick! I also noticed that it does cling to any dry skin on your lips so you need to make sure yours are super smooth before applying, I actually thought my lips were silky smooth until I put this on!!

Have you tried any of these Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipsticks yet?
If you have any ‘perfect peach/coral’ lipstick recommendations for me then make sure to leave me a comment!

Ah it’s a shame you didn’t get on so well with this lippy! I picked up shade 11, a bright pinky coral, and actually really liked it! xx
