Barry M Textured Nail Polishes

15/02/2013 · beauty · 0

Barry M Textured Nail Paint £3.99 each

Now if you follow my blog on a semi-regular basis than you will have seen my swatches of the Nails Inc Concrete Nail Polish. I love the textured nail look and was so happy when I unwrapped that one at Christmas (btw is it just me or does Christmas feel like a zillion years ago?!). Anyhoo, I had a feeling a budget version would be launched and sure enough Barry M have released their ‘textured’ nail polishes. I actually genuinely prefer the range of colours that Barry M have brought out not including the shade I got from Nails Inc which is London Wall (beige), my Mum calls it my ‘porridge’ manicure but I love it because it really does remind me of actual concrete! So onto the new Barry M offering! I have three shades to show you which are Ridley Road (A Mint Green), Kingsland Road (A Baby Pink) and Atlantic Road (A Baby Blue).

I think the textured look works perfectly with the pastel colours of this range, I thought I would also show you the nail polishes with the Nails Inc one so you can see a side by side comparison of the ‘effect’.

As you can see from my super snazzy annotation skills there really isn’t anything in it. The concrete nail polish from Nail Inc looks almost identical to the texture nail paint from Barry M. I would say the only difference I noticed is that the Barry M ones apply like a normal nail polish and dry quite slowly (around 10 minutes until they are fully dry) and that’s when the textured effect can be seen, whereas with the Nails Inc polish you can see the concrete effect almost instantly and it dries in under 5 minutes. I would definitely recommend the Barry M version if you resent paying the Nails Inc price but really love the look of textured nail polishes!

What do you think of this textured nail trend?
I have seen the Nails Inc Denim and Feather effect polishes and I am pretty tempted, so fickle right?!
