Rimmel Apocalips Review :)
Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers £5.99
I know these reviews have been doing the rounds but I thought I would show you the 2 ‘Apocalips’ shades I picked from the new Rimmel line. The Rimmel website describes the new range a lot better than I could so here is the little blurb from them!
“Combining the intense colour of lipstick with a lacquer like shine, Apocalips Lip Lacquer is the explosive new make-up phenomenon that represents the end of colour as you know it. Packed with pure colour pigments, its lusciously creamy, conditioning formula promises a never-before combination of colour, shine and comfort that last and last. Available in 8 shades, from subtly sexy to spectacular.”
The 8 shades are:
Galaxy
Celestial
Nova
Apocoliptic
Big Bang
Luna
Stellar
Nude Eclipse
Now I purchased 2 of them picking ‘Celestial’ and ‘Luna’, I also wanted to pick up ‘Galaxy’ but it was sold out in my local Boots which sucks, I have just noticed there is a 3for2 deal running on Rimmel now too, I always seem to miss these deals! Anyway onto the two colours I did manage to pick up!
Luna: A coral/peach toned lip colour which applies quite sheer and needs a little bit of work to get a ‘lipstick’ look, this was my favourite colour as it is so warm and perfect for spring. I do think it was a bit dissapointing that it applied so sheer, I would have prefered a fully opaque look and found it was a bit harder to work with than the ‘Celestial’ shade. The colour is lovely though and it looks particularly nice paired with Nars Orgasm on the cheeks for a fresh day look.
Celestial: This is a dusky rose style pink which applies like a dream! I slicked this on and it gave full coverage in one swipe. I have quite red lips and find some lip colours don’t look the same on me as they do when swatched, this one was perfect though, I actually went off pink shades in blushers and lipsticks but this one might just have converted me back! I can definitely see this colour being a bit of a cult one, it is the perfect pink for both day and night.
I think in the swatches you can see what I mean about Luna being quite sheer, it is still a lovely shade though and a must have if your into peachy toned makeup! Celestial is definitely the better quality of the two and I think it looked like a lipstick when it was applied whereas Luna looked more like a gloss. I will be picking up a few more I think and when I do I will add the swatches to this post too 🙂
What do you think of these new Rimmel lip colours?

Love the look of Luna, even if it is difficult to work with it’s a gorgeous colour!
