Maybelline The Rocket Volume Express Mascara Review

Have you noticed this new trend with mascaras claiming they are ‘clump proof’? I think they have noticed that not everyone enjoys the spiky lashes look and are starting to develop mascaras aimed at good volume and length! This new Maybelline one is described as having a ‘jet glide’ brush. The brush is thick and squared off with the bristles being quite short. I wasn’t too sure about it when I first looked at it but I have become quite obsessed with the Max Factor Clump Defy Mascara which has a lovely curved brush. This one was slightly harder to use but it still applied very easily, the colour payoff was VERY good and my lashes have stayed curled and lengthened all day. I can’t fault it really, 2 coats did leave a slightly clumpy look but this was pretty minimal. I would personally use this more as an evening mascara as it is quite dramatic, it’s perfect for a night out. I can see myself reaching for this one in place of my YSL faux cils mascara which I stopped using after they changed the formula. I have no problem buying expensive or cheap mascaras, I go purely on the quality and this one is right up there with some of the best high end ones I have tried!
