Topshop Shopping! A mini basics haul :)

15/12/2012 · beauty · 0

Ok so the last couple of bits in my shopping spree are these basics I picked up from Topshop. I am really excited to tell you that 2013 will be a year of ‘retraining’ for me as I will be going back to ‘school’ to train as a makeup artist! It is something I have wanted to do since I was a little girl and I really should have just gone for it a long time ago. With support (both financially and emotionally) from the 2 most wonderful people in the world my *Mum and Dad* I will be able to start this amazing new chapter of my life! Now one thing I learnt from some makeup artists I have become friends with is that as glamorous as it might appear you must be prepared for long days/nights so comfort is key.
I wanted to start stocking up on good fitting basics that look smart enough for shoots but also comfortable enough for long working hours. These tees are perfect as they have a nice oversized fit with slits to the side which you can tie up to make the top shorter if you want, otherwise they sit just above the knee. I got them in black and white because they are classic colours but I also liked this burgundy and white stripe version which isn’t my usual style but I think it will look lovely with blue jeans! These bottoms are my ABSOLUTE favourites. They are denim leggings but are a little thicker than usual leggings, not quite as stiff as jeggings though. The softness is what I love about them the most, they feel so comfy on and are so cosy but look really smart. I have them in a few different colours now and actually the plain black leggings from this picture got returned for another pair!

The velvet leggings were just to add a bit of texture to my wardrobe, I saw them on Lily’s blog and they looked really smart but wearable and I thought they would be great for when you want to dress up something a bit plain. The t-shirts were £15 each and the bottoms were all £25 each which I think it really reasonable. I cannot recommend the leggings enough, especially if your like me and have some ‘junk in the trunk’ but are quite small on the waist which means jeans can be tight around the hips but loose on the waist, these come up relatively high which I like and they are really flattering!
What do you think of my shopping posts? Would you like to see some OOTD posts? I was talking about it on twitter and mentioned I was quite nervous to start them as I am a size 12/14 and nearly all the fashion bloggers out there seem to be really skinny or plus size so I wasn’t sure if there was a place for me really :S Let me know what you think though because I like the idea of sharing my outfit posts with you but I am a bit low in confidence so be nice!
Make sure you check out my other haul posts from Primark and H&M if you liked this one!
