Rimmel SCANDALEYES Waterproof Mascara Review
Today I am continuing my running theme…or quest if you will…to find the perfect volumizing, lash building mascara.
I picked up the Rimmel SCANDALEYES waterproof mascara and I was quite excited to try it as I have heard some pretty good things about it. The packaging is a luminous orange with bold black writing. To me it seems when they do this on packagaing, it can be to distract from a not so great product…
So the first thing I noticed about this mascara was the fab looking brush. It is huge and I have to admit the second I saw it I assumed this would be a great mascara! It also seems to hold enough product without being wet or you having to wipe some off (as you know this is a pet peeve of mine!!)
When I went to apply the mascara I was quite surprised that it didn’t seem to work well for me. I thought for sure that the large brush would translate to a great application, but for some reason it just wouldn’t lift the lashes or do anything other than stick my lashes together for a not so lovely clumpy/spikey lash effect!!
I also noticed the actual product was very thin and as such it took an age to dry, this left me with some smudging on the lid which was quite hard to remove. When I did remove this mascara a fair few eyelashes came off with it (and I am very gentle when removing eye makeup!!)
Now I cannot fault the brush, to be honest it is one of the best I have ever seen. I am going to keep it and try some other mascaras with the brush applicator. Based on the actual product though I would definitely NOT recommend this mascara. I found it much too thin in consistency, hard to remove and it did little more than clump my lashes together and kill of a fair few of them in the process!

Sorry for the negative review. I do hate moaning but I would also hate for you to waste your hard earned money on a bad quality product, I hope you can forgive me for my brutal honesty 😉
You can purchase it in Boots for £4.99 atm (on special offer)
Have you tried the Rimmel SCANDALEYES mascara?
What did you think?

mascaras being too wet is one of my worst things! although I tend to find they improve with time. mabybe try leaving the lid off for a couple of hours, or pump the brush in and out of it loads, you’re not meant to do that because it dries out mascara, but when you want it to dry out it’s great!
