CANTERBURY BEAUTY / LIFESTYLE / TRAVEL

Things I have bought this week :)

30/04/2012 · beauty · 0

Hi girlies!

Just wanted to share with you a few things I got as presents from my Mum this past week. I told her I wanted to add some more ‘shabby chic’ things to my living room and just make it a nicer room to relax in and she picked me up these lovely little trinkets:

I got this super sized Pink Sands Yankee Candle and it just smells absolutely gorgeous. It is really fresh and girly without being too heavy! I really love Yankee Candles, have you tried them before?

I really love this! It is a chalk board in a heart shape and my Mum picked it for me so I can write inspirational quotes on it everyday and nice positive messages. I was really chocked up when she gave me this, such a thoughtful gift and something that just fits in perfectly with my room theme!

Lastly I got this memento box. It is really unusual, it can be wall mounted or stand alone and has a fabric inside (the glass front is on hinges so it opens like a cabinet) and little pearl drawing pins to pin special mementos to the fabric back! I love it as think I will get a few and have them mounted on the wall with different ‘moods’ in each sort of like individual mood boards!

I was so touched by these lovely presents and as usual my Mum has picked things that are very touching and personal to me. (I know I am going on a bit but I really do love my Mum she is so sweet and thoughtful!!)

Onto some beauty bits!! Today I popped into down after an appointment and went into Boots to see what was new. I picked up an eye bling eyeshadow from MyFace Cosmetics who I guess must be going bust? I only say this because everything was heavily discounted and I got this purple shadow for half price. I have actually tried the bronze one before as it was in a beauty box (I forget which one!) and I loved it but they seems a bit pricey at £9.99 so when I saw it for £4.99 I couldn’t resist!

I also picked up 2 things from Revlon. First I got the Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Foundation. I have to say it is very different to the Maybelline Mousse version. It is much more usable and has a better coverage. I would say if you didn’t get on with the Maybelline one then definitely try this one as it really does give a nice even coverage and I like the slightly dewy look it gave my skin.

I think you can see what I mean about this mousse being more pigmented then the Maybelline version and also I think you can see the dewy look I mentioned (and I have some pics of me wearing it at the end of this post also).

The second thing I picked up was this eyeshadow quad. Part of the COLORSTAY range, I actually saw these in America when I went over Christmas as was really loving them but couldn’t find the purple one anywhere! I love the range of purples in this quad from shimmery lilacs to grey toned mauve’s. They have good pigment too and compliment each other perfectly.

Lastly I bought these goodies from Cargo Cosmetics. I actually saw them a few months ago but at £25 for the lash accelerator and £20 for the Cheek Activator I just couldn’t afford it if I am honest. Well again these were heavily discounted with 75% off. I haven’t tried the lash accelerator yet but I was surprised to see it was black, I had it in my head it would be a white cream that you applied to the lashes! The cheek activator was really unusual. It comes out white and then changes to the perfect rosy pink and has a plumping effect which gives you rosy cheeks….amazing!!!

Here I am wearing the Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup. I love the dewy look and  I do have a few blemishes and this covered them really well!!

I also wore a really unusual colour on my eyes which I got for MUA for the bargain price of £1. It is like a mauve/rose and is the more beautiful colour. I have been trying to wear just one colour during the day for a more fresh look and loved how this looks on!!

Bit of a long post so sorry for that but I hope you enjoyed seeing the different things I have picked up this past week!!!

What have you been buying recently?
Do you like the things I have picked up?

Let me know!
