Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss Review

31/05/2012 · beauty · 0

Over the past few weeks I have been trying to be a tad more ‘polished’. I bought myself a pretty makeup bag for my handbag from Topshop and have been trying to put together a collection of handbag essentials in my quest to be a super organised person!

First on my list was to find a really nice lipgloss I could just slick on whenever I needed a bit of colour or to compliment whatever lipstick I am wearing.

I decided to opt for the Rimmel Stay Glossy Lipgloss after seeing it as part of the new summer products range. Now I think it was the specific colours that were new not the actual gloss. I picked the bright fuchsia colour which I think was called ‘dare to stay’ but I can’t be totally sure as it isn’t on the packaging :S

I am more into neutral colours but I knew as with all lipglosses it was likely this would come out a more natural pink then the neon colour it seemed to be in the tube. I was right it is definitely a lighter pink and looks really lovely on its own as it has just the right hint of colour. It also doesn’t feel sticky which I HATE with a lipgloss, seriously nothing is worse than your hair getting stuck to your lipgloss!

This one feels much more silky and more balm like but has a lovely shiny finish. I wouldn’t say it lasts for 6 hours like it claims to, but I didn’t need to touch it up until about the 3 hour mark. That was after drinking and eating so I was suitably impressed with how well it lasted!

I would say that it is a really nice lipgloss and a perfect addition to my new makeup bag. I paid £4.29 for it in Boots where it is on special offer from £6.29. I don’t know if I would pay £6.29 as it seems a little steep for a lipgloss to be honest, but I am happy with it so far!!

What are your makeup bag essentials?

It’s a very flattering lipgloss on you 🙂 I have a make up bag from Topshop too. Well more of an essentials bag really, which I keep stuff like handcreams, hand sanitizer, lip balms, perfume samples, oil blotting sheets etc then make up for the day which I may need to touch up etc. Certainly stops me having a great big mess in my bag! xo

This lipgloss looks really pretty on you! I never would have thought that a colour as bold as that in the tube could come out such a subtle, light pink! 🙂 My makeup/skincare essentials are: lip balm, hand cream and eye liner. I can do away with a lot of things if I had to, but these are the top 3 things I could never give up lol! Lovely makeup bag btw. 🙂 xx
