Storage Inspiration #4: Makeup

31/03/2013 · beauty · 0

I *think* this is the last post in my storage series but I am thinking about doing a clothing and accessories one as well so don’t hold me to that! So far I have shown you how I store my jewellery, make-up brushes and nail polishes and today I thought I would show you how I keep my make-up stored. I wanted to find a solution to my usual storage method of throwing everything into a draw and just never being able to find anything! As you know by now we are soon to be moving house so I really didn’t want to spend money on new furniture or expensive storage solutions as I am hoping to get an in built storage system in the new place.

I searched for ages until I came across this storage box in The Range. It is called ‘Really Useful 16 Large Compartments Tray’ and this is a ‘does exactly what it says in the title sort of item! It was actually in the crafting section but as soon as I saw it I thought it would be perfect for adding a bit more order to my make-up.The compartments are deep enough to store all my products and I think it just makes them look so much more appealing to the eye. I was thinking about spraying the box a bold matt colour like a peach or turquoise though just to make it a bit different. I should mention at this point the bargain price of this storage tray…. £4.99!! How amazing is that?! (I actually picked up a spare one too *oops*) I find it really easy to see everything I have this way and have sorted things into ‘groups’ such as eye pencils, mascaras etc. All in all this is my favourite storage solution to date and I hope I can find a way of incorporating it into my new room too!

I love that it slots straight into the top drawer too, it means I can close the drawer and everything looks neat and tidy in my room which is important for me as I work from home and need as much order as possible or I turn into a total scatter brain!

Do you have any organising tips for me?
