My Top 5: Nail Care Products

03/04/2014 · beauty · 0

I know it’s definitely a #firstworldproblems sort of problem but I really struggle with my nails. I’ve always been a nail biter and all those years chomping away have left them weak and brittle, add to that some crappy nail beds and you’ve got the (not so pretty) picture! I made a ‘new years resolution’ of sorts to really get my nails into shape and apart from a few wobbles (stress nail biting!) I have found a pretty good routine for keeping them looking the best they can.
Cuticle Removal I find if I keep my cuticles looking healthy I usually resist biting my actual nails (weird but true!) I use the Sally Hansen Instant Cuticle Remover, you apply a little of the gel to the cuticles, leave for around 20-30 seconds and then use a cuticle stick to remove. I don’t know how it does it but all this gunk (attractive) comes off and your nail beds look super healthy! It’s a bit trick to get hold of (I got mine in TK Maxx).
Nail Care I like to use 2 different products for keeping my nails strong and to help growth. Every other evening I use the Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle Serum it’s a clear polish that is supposed to help speed up nailgrowth- I don’t know the science behind it but I have to say it really does work, naturally my nails barely grow at all but this had give me long(ish) nails in around 5 days! The only problem is my nails are quite weak and so I use the OPI Nail Strengthener, I have to say this actually feels a little sore when I apply it, not sure how else to word it but it’s definitely a super strong polish! It makes my brittle nails feel nice and strong though so I would definitely recommend it.
Cuticle Care Again I use 2 different cuticle products depending on the state of them! I tend to use the CND Solar Oil every evening, I massage it in whilst watching youtube videos and it just sinks in, smells heavenly and leaves my cuticles nourished and healthy. If I have been nail biting and my nails are sore and cut then I use the Flexitol Nail and Cuticle Cream, again I pop a little dot of this on each nail and massage it in. When my nails are really sore I use the Solar Oil first, the Flexitol on top and then pop on some moisturising gloves.
So there you have it, my top nail care products!
I’d love to know what you use to keep your nails looking healthy!
