Le Blush Creme De Chanel: Presage

I thought I would share this cream blush with you today but I should warn you this isn’t going to be another rave review for Chanel! The new ‘Le Blush Creme De Chanel’ range consists of 6 silky cream blushers and I opted for ‘Presage’ which is a bright orange (the only orange shade in the range). I was so unbelievable excited to try this as I personally haven’t used a lot of Chanel makeup before and I had heard great things in the blogging world about these new cream blushers. Consistency wise these are a lot like the Bourjois cream blushers, creamy and super pigmented.

Presage is a very bright apricot- it reminds me a lot of a cream version of Illamasqua’s Lover blush. I tried applying this with a stippling brush, blush brush, kabuki and my fingers and found that fingers were best as the blush is very creamy but sets to a powder like finish. By blending the blush with my fingers I found the shade was very pretty and natural, perfect for that hint of something without looking like you have too much makeup on. Pressing the product into the cheeks gave it a more intense colour payoff and I think that would look awesome on darker skintones!

So why didn’t I like it? Well to be honest I was just totally underwhelmed. The colour is absolutely gorgeous, the texture is nice (but I did find it faded much more quickly than my other cream blushers) and the packaging is perfect (it comes in a little velvet pouch!) but the way this product settled on my cheeks was awful. Within an hour of wear it had sunk into pores on my cheeks that I didn’t even know I had (obviously I know there are pores but I wasn’t aware mine where visible on my cheeks!) This has NEVER happened to me before, I don’t have particularly large pores so I was really shocked to see the product settle into my cheeks in little oranges dots, not a good look!

It’s safe to say this isn’t something I would repurchase, I have tried it about 4 times now with different base’s and the result is always the same which is so disappointing! If you do have larger pores on your cheeks then I would stay well away from this, another thing I found was it settled where my cheeks were a little dry so I would say if you have dry skin this might not be for you either. Most likely this cream to powder finish would suit oilier skin-tones but in my honest opinion I probably wouldn’t bother trying it when Bourjois do a pretty good range of cream to powder blushers for a much cheaper price tag!
