If you’ve been getting into online dating or you’ve simply found yourself getting into a long-distance relationship, then you will find that it’s important to find ways to do things that you might not be close enough to do personally. Amongst other aspects of the relationship, this includes how you pamper them, give them presents, and feel them special. If there’s a birthday anniversary, or special day coming up, or you just want to treat them, here are a few suggestions worth considering.
Make up a care package
It’s a common tactic, but it is always very effective. Take the time to curate a little care package for your loved one. Pick up things that remind you of them, get some treats that they might not be able to get locally, choose out a gift for them, and wrap it all up in the box lovingly decorated for them. You can include a little love note or a card to go with it. The time that you take to compile a care package is as big a part of the gift as the actual physical things inside it.
Pamper them with some luxuries
A handcrafted care package can take with it a lot of love. However, sometimes, you simply want your loved one to have a taste of the finer things, to really pamper themselves, and feel like they are worth the effort. You might not be able to take them to a spa and restaurant yourself, but you can help to recreate some of that same kind of luxuriousness by sending them gourmet hampers. Aside from helping them feel like they are worth that kind of attention, aiming for presents that are a little more sensuous can also ignite a little more passion in the relationship.
Get heartfelt with it
Sometimes, getting a little sappy can be a truly wonderful present. Take the time to write a lovely heartfelt love letter, put together a romantic playlist for them, or send them a photo of yourself (keeping yourself safe while you’re at it.) Sometimes, boiling things down to basic but heartfelt shows of affection and sentimentality can be just what you and your partner need to feel the love.
Be your own present
Sometimes, the best option might be to simply close the distance. It’s not always possible or convenient, but you should look at taking the opportunity to make the trip to visit them. It’s usually good to plan this out if it’s the first time but if you’ve met up before, then making it a surprise can add a touch of fun to things, too. If you can’t make the trip immediately, then start talking and make some concrete plans about when you can meet up and spend some time together. It’s important to get that personal connection when possible.
With the tips above, you can make sure that your loved one feels special, wherever they might be. It’s an important part of any relationship to make each other feel that way every now and then.
