What Do Customers Look For When Buying Online?

25/03/2021 · charlotte evans · 0

There’s been a massive surge in the number of people who are comfortable buying online. The number was always reasonably high, but things took a spike during 2020. With everyone at home, people looked online! Those that had never bought anything on the internet before suddenly found just how convenient it is.

All this means that it has never been better to have an online business. The market is just so big! However, it’s important to remember that while there’s plenty of potential when it comes to building a successful website, it’s far from guaranteed. The competition for customers, after all, is extremely tough.

In this blog, we’re going to take a look at some of the key website traits that customers look for in a website. If your site lacks any of them, then look at adding them to your site!

A Legitimate Design

People are judgemental, and especially so in 2021. We’re all bombarded with so many options, so we have to be judgemental. If we weren’t, then we wouldn’t get anything done. When it comes to your site, people will be looking at the quality of the website design. If it looks low-budget and outdated, then it’s unlikely that they’ll be inspired to make a purchase. As such, it’s worthwhile paying a professional company to take care of the design for you — they’ll come up with a look that looks modern and inspires trustworthiness.

Easy Contact

One of the reservations people have when buying online is that, if they face any sort of issue, then they won’t have a physical space they can visit to resolve the issue. When people buy from your site, they’re trusting that you’re going to send them whatever it is they’ve ordered and that everything will be fine. You can put their mind at ease and remove any doubts they may have by adding extensive contact methods to your website. The basics will include having a phone number, your social media channels, and your email address. But you can take things further by adding live video chat; you can visit click4assistance for more information about getting it for your site. The more ways the customer has to contact you, the more likely it is that they’ll trust you.

Fast Shipping

There’s one advantage that the high street will likely always have over the digital world. And that’s that when you buy something, you have it instantly. There’s no time frame that you have to wait between purchase and having it in your hands. While people are accepting of the fact that they’ll need to wait some time before their item arrives, they’re not going to wait forever. If you have a shipping time of four weeks or more, then you can’t be too surprised if visitors aren’t putting an order in. This is, of course, only applicable for everyday items; specialty items will obviously take longer. If you have an overly long delivery time, then look at finding ways to cut it down — it’ll make a difference.
