There is no doubt that 2019 was the year of Skincare, I don’t think I have ever seen such a shift in the beauty community from makeup to skincare launches. It’s an exciting time as a lot of products are launching at a much more affordable price point without comprising on quality or results. One brand new launch is the Pro Co skincare line, an innovative new brand that focuses on high performance vegan serums that are cruelty free, 75% natural and use less than 2% plastic packaging, yes 98% plastic free!! So far the brand have released 3 new products, the Eye Rescue Serum, 7% Encapsulated Retinol Serum and 20% Vitamin C Serum all of which cost just £7.99. I was very kindly sent all 3 of them to try out and share my thoughts and results with you.

Traditionally, eye creams have been my go to but do I find they are often quite rich and as such can cause my eyes to feel a little irritated if over applied and that can also cause my makeup to not sit well on top of them. A serum formula for the eye area seems perfect for more sensitive eyes without losing the rich hydrating results of a heavier eye cream.

Key Ingredients:

Cocoa Butter: Rich in antioxidants (Oleic Acid, Palmitic Acid, and Stearic Acid). Reduces the key signs of ageing and calms inflammatory skin.

Seaweed (Ascophyllum Nodosum) Extract: Soothes irritation and boost circulation, as well as stimulating cell renewal and eliminating impurities.

Grape Seed (Vitis Vinifera) Oil: A rich and potent antioxidant that diminishes the damaging effects of free-radicals. It has anti-fungal and anti-microbial properties and absorbs harmful UV rays.

I found the eye rescue serum to be very hydrating but also very light on the skin, one thing I look for in eye creams/serums is something I can wear under makeup without it making my under eye area crease or pill. This felt silky and cooling under the eye and my makeup went on seamlessly over it. I also found it made a real difference to the appearance of my fine lines under my eyes it’s now firmly part of my morning and evening routine!20% Vit C Serum with Hyaluronic Acid

Vitamin C is a key skincare product for brightening the skin and improving texture and the appearance of scarring. I have tried a fair few and will say I have found them to be quite drying on my skin which I why I was intrigued by the inclusion of Hyaluronic Acid in this formula. My skin loves hyaluronic acid so I had high hopes for this:

As with a lot of Vitamin C’s I found this to be slightly tacky when first applied but it dried down very quickly without leaving any sticky residue on the skin. I found it instantly felt hydrating on the skin and my skin looks brighter since I have started using it which is perfect for this time of year, I am also really pleased to say I have not had a single breakout since using it which is a real shock as I have hormonal breakouts and would usually be dealing with them at this time of the month. I am definitely going to keep using this, would you like to see a more in depth review in a few weeks time?

7% Encapsulated Retinol Serum

Retinol has been an absolute game changer in the skincare world, everyone has created their own version and there are some very potent formulas on the market that are very irritating on the skin and some that are so gentle they make little to no difference, I have tried them all and have yet to find the one. I wcould say that for me, I prefer the formulas that have hydrating ingredients included in the mix to prevent skin irritation so this one sounded perfect for me!

Retinol takes a while to start showing true results so I can only give you my first impressions here but I can say this is a very light serum that has a water like consistency and absorbed instantly into the skin. My skin didn’t react at all to this and felt perfectly soft and comfortable without any irritation. It’s also one of the few retinol’s I have tried that hasn’t broken me out or caused my skin to feel a bit sensitive after use. It did say 1-2 drops was enough for your whole face but my moon face needed 3 (whoops!) but apart from that I found it to be a really lovely product to apply and I will definitely be keeping a photo diary of my scarring and fine lines to do a follow up post of the results in a few months, for £7.99 this is an absolute steal!

Overall I was blown away by the brand and the quality of the products, especially for the price point. The fact that they are committed to producing packaging with less than 2% plastic and they are vegan & cruelty free is just the icing on the (dairy free) cake!
