Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks

21/05/2016 · beauty · 0

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to talk in a bit more detail about the the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I mentioned these in my beauty haul post from earlier this week and I have really been enjoying using them. I picked up 2 shades from the range (here in the UK we have a selection of 8 shades) I went for: Nude Flush which is a gorgeous true toffee nude without any unflattering orange undertones and Pink Flush which is a beautiful cool toned raspberry pink which reminds me of a the amazing but discontinued Topshop shade Beatnik, a true ‘your lips but better’ shade. maybelline color sensational vivid matte liquid lipsticksFirst things first I am starting a petition to get all liquid lipsticks to feature this wand! It is a thin straight foam applicator and it seems to make getting that beautiful even application ‘idiot proof’ as you can get a really precise lip line.  The product itself surprised me, it feels quite light but definitely not drying, in that way it reminds me of the collection cream puff lip colours but not quite as moussey, more like a cremesheen lipstick if it was in liquid form.swatchesThey apply beautifully with no streaking and no problems with colour payoff. These glide on smoothly and do a good job of masking imperfections on the lips, something a lot of liquid lipsticks can’t do because they dry down and that tends to highlight dry skin. These aren’t going to give you the crazy matte lip that you see from the likes of Colour Pop, the finish is much more in the matte-cremesheen category. Now that doesn’t bother me at all, I like the finish and they give a little dimension to the lips which I personally find quite flattering on me, but if you’re looking for a super matte lip these aren’t for you.MAYBELLINE COLOR SENSATIONAL MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICKSThat being said I really would recommend them, especially if you have dry lips and find liquid lipsticks highlight those drier patches. Lasting power wise these are more like lipsticks and last around 2 hours before I want to top them up, they do leave a slight stain to the lips too. They feel so creamy and comfortable on the lips, it makes re-applying them a joy and I for one will be going back for a few more shades!

The Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks cost £6.99 each and are available here.

(they are currently buy one get one half price too!)

Nude Flush and Pink Flush look great on you! I think this would be my perfect formula as I don’t like the drying/really matte aspect to some matte lipsticks. Love your swatches!

I really love the look of Pink Flush! I went and looked for it to buy from Boots a few days ago but never did see it in the store. 🙁

I think I’ll pick it up soon, it’s so gorgeous and both the shades you picked up suit you really well. 🙂
