L’Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara Review

05/01/2016 · beauty · 0

Hi everyone, today I wanted to share the new L’Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara with you! This is a really unusual mascara as it has almost no length to the bristles at all and has an open, curved shape with a skinny tapered end.LOreal-False-Lash-Sculpt-Mascara-Review-and-swatches-1024x1024-2I really didn’t think this mascara would work for me, I am not the biggest fan of plastic brushes and I especially don’t like the little comb like bristles which I find make my lashes just look clumpy, but I’ll admit it, I was wowed! As a sideline the selling point of this mascara is that it’s meant to fill and define the lash line to give a lined full effect to the lashes, I can’t say I found it did this for me but I definitely noticed more product at the lash line than I’ve experience with other mascaras.

What I particularly liked about the wand was that it was very narrow, this allowed me to really grab corner lashes without smudging the mascara and I could coat each lash individually which prevented clumping. When I used this on my middle lashes I could really feel the brush comb through them from the root and lift them, it created a beautiful fanned out effect with each lash being completed coated and really glossy.

L'Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara Review

(left: one coat / right: 2 coats)

I’ve recently noticed my lashes have looked a bit droopy towards the end of the day but this kept them looking long and full of volume. One coat gave me the look I wanted and I will say two coats did make my lashes look a bit clumpier than I personally like. Drying time was a tad longer than I would have liked too, but nothing too noticeable, the mascara built well even though the effect wasn’t too my taste. Removal was a bit tougher than I’m used to (I needed actual eye makeup remover as my Clinique take the day of cleansing oil didn’t quite cut it!) it’s probably why there was no smudging on my under eye area and my lashes felt quite springy and light all day.

I would say this is more of an evening mascara, the look is fairly dramatic with my lashes getting a serious length and volume boost but saying that I liked how naturally it looked on the corner lashes and my bottom lashes. I also love that you can really build this up, if you like a more spiky clumpy look a few coats could definitely get you there but one coat is enough for a dramatic fanned out look too. All in all this is one I can definitely see myself repurchasing and as my first bought product of 2016 I am over the moon!

The L’Oreal False Lash Sculpt Mascara costs £9.99 from Boots (link) but it’s currently just £6.99 and it’s on 3 for 2 so grab one quick!

I thought the exact same thing, it’s really not my sort of brush but for some reason it just works 🙂 xx

If I was just looking at the wand, I wouldn’t think that this mascara would be any good, but your lashes look amazing! I’ll definitely be trying it 🙂

I thought the same, it was sealed in store and I didn’t get to see the brush first so when I finally did I was a bit ‘eh?!’ but I was amazed at how well it worked! thanks so much for reading 🙂 xx

This wand is definitely different to the usual thick ones I go for but the results look really good. L’oreal mascaras never fail to impress me x
