My Top Nail Picks For Spring 2014

02/03/2014 · beauty · 0

So I thought I would talk to you today about some of my favourite spring nail polishes. I think spring is the best time of year for nail colours, it’s a bit of an ‘in between’ season here in the U.K and even though it might seem close to summer it doesn’t always feel it! Nail polish is a fun way to just add a pop of colour to your look without feeling overdone!
Just as a side note the pictures show two coats of each polish and I’ve found all of them stay pretty much chip free for around 4/5 days (except the models own polish which I’ve only worn a handful of times so I can’t judge the lasting power yet!

1. Look Beauty Nail Pop ‘Juice’ £5 I’m a big fan of the Nail Pop’s from Look Beauty, this is a neon yet warm toned orange shade which looks amazing against all skintones!

2. Essie ‘Not Just A Pretty Face’ £7.99 This is a beautiful pink toned nude, I think it’s a great classic colour to have in your collection and it looks especially beautiful when it catches the light!

3. Kate Moss for Rimmel ‘Hip Hop’ £4.49 I love love love this red! It’s an orangey-red which is just a really modern way to wear red nails, I wore it to death last year!

4. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine ‘Lychee’ £3.99 A creamy nude that looks really nice against pale skintones, it has a high shine finish too which looks lovely for spring.

5. Look Beauty Nail Pop ‘It’s Mint’ £5 (currently £3.79!) f.y.i this isn’t mint at all; it’s the perfect sky blue and my absolute favourite polish, the colour is unlike any other I own and I especially like this on my toes!
6. Topshop Nails ‘Mannequin’ £5  this is quite a warm toned nude, I usually wear it when I have a little bit of a (fake) tan but it looks really pretty on and almost has a hint of peach in it.

7. Look Beauty Nail Pop ‘Ribbon’ £5 (currently £3.79!) This is a really pretty dusky rose shade, I like it because I’m not massively into pink nails but this feels like a grown up version and it would look really pretty against all skin-tones.
8. Topshop Nail Polish ‘Gone Fishing’ £5 This is a really pretty mint, it’s creamy and quite bright sitting bang in the middle of minty green and minty blue, it’s one of my go to shades.

9. MUA Strawberry Crush £1 It blows my mind that this is just £1! A beautiful creamy pink that’s not too bright and not too dark- it’s a goldilocks sort of polish!
10. Models Own Hyper Gel ‘Cornflower Gleam’ £5 This is one of the new Models Own Hyper Gel polishes which are very similar to the Barry M Hi Shines, this shade is a beautiful cornflower blue which almost looks a little lilac in some lights.
11. MUA Nail Polish ‘Lush Lilac’ £1 If you only pick one polish up for spring make it this one! Seriously it’s only a pound but it’s just the most beautiful white-lilac shade, it’s probably one of my favourite polishes of all time!
12. Look Beauty Nail Pop ‘Flamingo’ £5 If you’ve been looking for a beautiful coral nail polish then this is (in my opinion of course!) one of the best corals out there, it’s almost a neon shade and if they made this exact shade in a blush I would buy 100 of them!

So there you have it, my favourite spring nail polishes!
Do you have any favourite nail colours for spring?
Let me know!

Ribbon is gorgeous! I’ve never tried a Look Beauty nail polish before.
