Today I thought I would talk to you about a ‘rediscovery’ of mine, MAC’s Soft and Gentle. It is a mineralize skin finish which I use in a variety of different ways. I really like it all over the lid as a simple eyeshadow (sorts of like a light version of ‘all that glitters’) a light sweeping all over the face for a luminous finish to my base or along my cheekbones for a soft, beautiful highlight. I actually found it impossible to get for a while, finally finding it in duty free and as with everything in my makeup collection it was loved for a while then relegated to the back of my face powder stash!
The lovely weather we are having here in the U.K is what prompted me to get this out, my skin has been relatively clear but it’s been lacking that all important ‘glow factor’, even with a generous dollop of NARS Sheer Glow! I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was missing, bronzer looked too much, pink blush didn’t sit right and I couldn’t ‘conceal’ my way out of the terrible dullness! I realised I was missing that ‘glow’ you get when you’ve caught a bit of sun, just enough to take a pale skinned girl from Casper to English rose!
Finish wise this is the full package; very finely milled, with great payoff and a beautifully soft finish- a little definitely goes a long way, which means it lasts forever! I haven’t heard of people using it as an eyeshadow before but I personally love it all over the lid with lashings of mascara.
This is definitely a ‘staple’ makeup piece and one that’ll be part of my beauty regime for as long as the rain is part of our daily weather updates!
