Soap and Glory: Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Shine Lacquers

19/11/2013 · beauty · 0

Just a heads up this isn’t going to be a rave review (look away now if you hate negative posts!)
So I picked up the new Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Lacquers during Boots 3for2 offer, I am a sucker for 3for2 and always end up spending way more than I normally would have-please tell me I’m not the only one?! Any hoo these caught my eye as a good rival for the Rimmel Apocolips and I really liked the range of shades so picked out the 3 stand out ones for me!
I got Whatchama Coral, WhopPink and Charm Offensive (who comes up with these names?!) Payoff wise these are intensely pigmented much more so than the Rimmel Apocolips, I found they wen’t on fully opaque in one swipe and that the colour was even. That being said these were an absolute nightmare to apply- they are just so darn messy! I ended up with the lip product all over my face and had to keep re-trying to get an even finish- not the best if your heading out!
On top of the application issues I found the formula was just awful, so sticky and…well I could explain in more detail but I thought I would just show you what I meant in video form…
As you can see the finish was just gross, there is no way on earth I would wear these out, they would end up everywhere and I have never come across a lip product that behaves in this way- it does make me wonder what sort of product testing goes on to allow something like this to come to market! I don’t like to moan or give negative reviews but these don’t come cheap and I would hate for any of you to waste your money on a product that in my opinion is totally faulty! As you can tell I am so disappointed in these, I usually love Soap and Glory lip products πŸ™
If you do want to give them a try then you can purchase them for Β£7.99 each here.
Have you tried any dud products recently?

It’s a shame these aren’t very good! The colours look lovely on you, especially the coral one. I really hate it when absolutely terrible products are released. Who tests these?

I have always hated these lipglosses! They have been terrible for years, I don’t see why they haven’t changed the formula. When I have worn them it feels hard to talk and you don’t want anyone looking at your mouth looking like you’re foaming gloss… Yuk! It is true though, who does come up with the names? Sometimes I have to laugh at what they are called xx

I can’t believe how sticky they’re – the colour range is gorgeous, just wish the product was formulated better! Such a shame – thanks for the heads up! x

truly the most disgusting lip product I have ever tried, reminds me of old school lipglosses that stuck half your hair to your face! I think they should hire some bloggers for naming products and testing formulas! xx

I haven’t tried any dud product recently but I tried a mascara from MUA which was like using nothing on my lashes…
