I ummed and ahhed about this lipstick for ages until I finally picked it up on the buy one get one half price offer. Boy am I glad I did! First things first though this is in no way, shape or form a coral shade. I would say it is a creamy raspberry pink, it is an absolutely gorgeous colour but if your ordering online then you could easily be led to believe this was coral which is definitely isn’t! I wouldn’t usually pick such a bold lip colour but I spotted this on Alix (if you haven’t check her blog out then I would definitely recommend you go and have a look!) It just looked like the perfect pop of colour for a summers day.
I had heard the super stay range was really impressive in terms of colour payoff and how long the colour lasts on the lips. In summer I seem to lose makeup the second I leave the house, I am not an overly sweaty person but it feels so humid this year and my face just seems to melt in this heat! This lippy is a bit of a gem for those of us who are struggling to hold onto their makeup during the summer months, it is a different formula than I am used to, it fits somewhere between a matte and a cremesheen and you can definitely feel it on the lips. It isn’t suffocating on the lips though it feels quite ‘secure’ which I like, I don’t like slippy lipsticks as I am constantly checking in my mirror that I don’t have lippie everywhere!
Does it last for 14 hours? Well no, but I applied it in the morning and didn’t need to touch up until around 4ish which is pretty good going, especially in this heat wave we are having in the UK. I for one am going to be picking up a few other shades to take away with me, I think they will be perfect for a bold lip in the evening on holiday! Oh and I should mention that they smell/taste of raspberries, this makes me very happy!
The Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipsticks are available from Boots and Superdrug and cost £6.99 each.
