Sleek True Colour Lipstick: Peaches and Cream

23/03/2013 · beauty · 0

Sleek True Colour Lipstick £4.99
Initial Thoughts
I do really like the Sleek packaging, it can be a bit of a pain to keep clean (top tip: use a miceller water to remove foundation marks from black packaging!) but it looks and feels quite high end. The True Colour Lipsticks are quite small which is great for limited makeup-bag space but it does feel a bit like your more paying for less product at £4.99? Colour wise the peaches and cream shade is very well pigmented, the colour payoff is excellent and it applies like a dream. The True Colour Lipsticks are very moisturising which is good if you suffer with chapped lips like me!

After Application
I have to say that after wearing this lipstick a few times I have been a tad disappointed in it. The shade itself is lovely but the actual lipstick has this weird slippery feel on the lips, I don’t know how else to describe it other than to say that within an hour of application it had just slid off my lips completely! Although moisturising it is also a clinger, by that I mean if you have any dry spots on your lips this will emphasise them which is not ideal with a bright peach shade. This is definitely not a ‘slick on and go’ sort of lipstick, you need a lot of prep work and it needs constant touch ups which is just no good for me!
Yay or Nay?
Overall I would have to say I wouldn’t repurchase this one, the finish is just a bit too ‘slippery’ for me. Although I cannot fault the colour payoff or the packaging I wasn’t impressed with the way it clung to dry patches or it’s lack of staying power. It really is such a shame as I love this shade of peach!

What do you think of Sleek Lipsticks?
Do you have any recommendations for coral/peach lipsticks?
