My first ever nail post! Neon nails with Essie Tart Deco

04/12/2012 · beauty · 0

Essie Nail Polish in Tart Deco £9.95*
Ok I am super excited about doing a nail post. I by no means consider myself a nail expert (if your looking for a nail expert may I suggest my beautiful and talented friend Lucy over at Lucy’s Stash). I do however have a ridiculous amount of nail polishes and Essie are my favourite brand, I love the broad range of colours and I went to town when I was in America at the beginning of the year picking up lots and lots of colours! This particular colour isn’t something I would normally choose but I have been really looking for a good neon nail colour. I liked the Models Own ones but I wanted something a bit more subtle but not too subtle, I know I know I am really hard to please! This polish however was perfect, it has a matte finish which stops it from being tacky neon and it is a superbright but sort of creamy toned neon. I applied two coats for a completely opaque colour. Now in the bottle this looks like more of a coral toned polish but on me it is quite bright, some people have said that’s because it doesn’t react well with a topcoat/basecoat? I personally wanted a neon colour so this works fine for me but if your not sure about neon colours then maybe give this one a miss! For me it’s a great way to inject some colour into my wardrobe, I love experimenting with nail colours so expect more nail posts for me in the future if that’s something you like seeing?

Let me know your thoughts and what your favourite Essie polishes are!
