CANTERBURY BEAUTY / LIFESTYLE / TRAVEL

Weekly edit #1

13/10/2012 · beauty · 0

This week I have really been getting into the Christmas spirit. I know I know it is only October but have you noticed all the shops have their Christmas goodies out? My favourite store at this time of year is BHS. I wouldn’t usually think to shop there but they just go all out for Christmas and have so many gifts for everybody, I reckon you could do your whole Christmas gift shopping there!
There have also been some great new beauty products released recently and this week I have reviewed some of my favourites:
  • My L’oreal Volume Million Lashes Excess Review
  • My Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara Review
  • My Maybelline FIT me Foundation Review

Talking of new launches, you may have seen that MAC have a new collection. ‘The Marilyn Monroe Collection’ is inspired by the iconic ladies legendary style. There are so many products to choose from I literally didn’t know what to swatch first at my local MAC counter! I was really tempted by the gorgeous lipsticks though but I wanted to see some reviews of them first (well I am a beauty blogger!) That is why my blog of the week is ‘MILKTEEF’. This week Emma has been reviewing lots of products from the collection, I have loved all of her posts, she keeps the writing interesting but informative and has great pictures too. She has reviewed the Legendary Blush, the Scarlet Ibis Lipstick and the Charmed I’m Sure Lipstick from the Marilyn Monroe Collection so make sure you check them out!
There has been so much beauty news this week that I thought I would share my favourites with you!
  • Bobbi Brown has launched her latest book, ‘Pretty Powerful: Beauty Stories to Inspire Confidence’. I have read my Bobbi Brown ‘Makeup Manual’ book from cover to cover and have picked up some amazing tips and tricks. I loved the section on becoming a makeup artist too so I really want this new book!
  • Sephora has collaborated with Disney for a Princess themed makeup collection. I literally cannot tell you how happy this makes me! The first Princess is Cinderella and they will be launching the next one in the Spring. So exciting!
  • Jennifer Aniston has partnered with Living Proof hair care. I don’t know a lot about this brand but one things for sure, if Elle is ‘the body’ Jennifer Aniston is definitely ‘the hair’ and if it’s good enough for her then I am already sold!
  •  Beauty’in launches in Selfridges. This brand really intrigues me, the whole ethos is that ‘you are what you eat’ and that has an effect on you inside and out. They have a range of food and drinks that have both dietary and cosmetic properties. I really want to try this range out!
  •  L’oreal have launched ‘The Mythic Oil Bar’ at selected salons. If you haven’t tried out the Mythic Oil then seriously, do it..NOW! I absolutely love it and being able to have Mythic Oil pampering treatments at the hairdressers sound fab, and from just £10, how amazing is that?
  • Charles Worthington has extended their ‘Salon at home’ haircare range. So far I have seen they are adding the Moisture Seal Overnight Ultimate Hair Healer, Diamond Shine Gloss Treatment, Intense Rescue Melting Balm, and Miracle Repair Elixir Oil. Oh and I already want them all!
So just a little snippet of the beauty news that’s caught my eye, the beauty world amazes me with new launches every single day, it’s such an exciting industry to be a part of in my own small way!
