Illamasqua Blusher Swatches :)

03/05/2012 · beauty · 0

Today I am going to be showing you some of the Illamasqua Blushers I have purchased.

I have to be honest with you, when I first tried out the blushers I was surprised that the pigmentation didn’t seem very strong. Well I think I was just caught in bad lighting or maybe they need a few tries, because the pay off of these blushers is truly the best I have ever seen in a blusher. I have both powder and cream ones and they are equal in quality and last all day. I have taken to applying the cream ones almost as a ‘base’ for the powder ones. You could wear the cream ones alone but I like the effect of the 2 of them together and they seem to last really well when applied this way.

Here is a break down of the colours I have collected so far:

Sob – Cream Blusher
Cool Candy Pink
Dewy Finish

I like to use this blusher as a base for my powder ones to intensify their pigmentation. I do however where it alone and it looks especially beautiful with a light tan. I have found on my pale skin it makes my eyes ‘pop’ and looks like a natural flush rather than a chalky or bright pink. A classic colour.

Lover-Powder Blush
Soft Apricot
Matt Finish

I would liken this one to Benefits Georgia blush as it gives a really lovely apricot glow to your skin. I apply it right on the ‘apples’ and it just completely wakes my face up. I also use the Real Techniques powder brush to gently sweep the powder over the face and it just lifts my complexion.

Rude- Cream Blush
Warm Peach Pink
Dewy Finish
When I want to enhance my (fake) tanned skin I apply this cream blush and then apply ‘Lover’ over the top. The look is like a more modern taken on bronzed skin as it has a lovely ‘English Rose’ sun kissed look if that makes sense? This would be a festival must have!!

 Nymph-Powder Blush
Warm Candy Pink
Matt Finish

This powder blush reminds me of the Bobbi Brown iconic pink blush. It is nice and bright but hasn’t got that cheap look some pinks have. It is more like the natural pink your cheeks go if your embarrassed or you’ve been out in the cold. It looks really natural and can just be layered to achieve a more pigmented look.

 Un-requited- Powder Blush
Soft Baby Pink
Matt Finish
Another pink. If you like your pinks to be a little lighter this is perfect. I like it for when I am doing a more natural makeup look or for when I am just looking for something quite natural. It looks really nice with pale skin and I find it blends well with a touch of bronzer on top (I used Chanel).

1. Nymph 2. Un-requited 3. Rude
4. Lover 5. Sob

So there you go!! Those are my current Illamasqua Blushers. I will be adding more to my collection and as I do I will add them to this post. I have also decided to start a swatch thread to help you when your out shopping or planning what to buy!

What do you think of Illamasqua Blushers?

Do you have a recommendation for my next purchase?

Let me know!!

Charlotte
xx
