The Perfect Universal Bronzer? Soleil Tan De Chanel Review

19/04/2012 · beauty · 0

I have been experimenting with tanning and trying out some bronzers this week.

I have never been a fan of powder bronzers because I find what looks lovely in the house looks matt and a bit ‘dirty’ once you get outside, or even worse really shimmery! I actually find with most bronzers I just end up with a grubby/orange look rather than that sun kissed glow!

The truth is I am just translucent. Seriously. I am the palest person ever and because of that bronzers sit on my skin and scream out fake. It used to frustrate me so much because I do love that sun kissed glow and tanned skin, but my Mum made a great point that I should be aiming for a more ‘english rose’ summer glow rather than a tanned skin look. With this in mind I did some research and found that the most recommended bronzer was Soleil Tan De Chanel.

Now I have to admit I was a bit dubious. A cream bronzer? Surely it would mess up your makeup or settle into pores and give a grubby/patchy look? Well I was more than a little pleasantly surprised by the results!

Firstly it comes in a huge pot and just looks so chic with the iconic Chanel packaging. More importantly the colour blends very well and really layers brilliantly leaving a silky finish. I noticed that on my pale skin it just enhances my complexion and you would think I had been away in the sun but on darker skin (I also tried this whilst wearing fake tan) it really deepens the richness of the colour. I wore it on top of my blusher and it didn’t make the blusher streak it just added a rosy glow.

Now for the scary part….it does cost £29 (and you can purchase it here) I know that is a lot of money, but I think it is definitely worth it. Any product that can be adapted to different skin tones means you are instantly going to save money. If you think about it, we usually change our makeup when the weather starts to get warmer, with this you can adapt it by layering for any season so I would see it as a more of an investment if that makes sense. I should note as well that it really does last a LONG time. I have been wearing it everyday for a month and it looks brand new!

What do you think of bronzers? Do you have a favourite, or have you tried this one?

Let me know!
