Hi girlies!!
A few weeks ago the lovely Laura over at Next invited me to take part in a campaign of sorts to spread the word about Next’s involvement in the 2012 Olympics. Now I am super excited about the Olympics, especially as I live in Canterbury which is now less the 45 minutes by train to the Olympic stadium at Stratford. I spend huge amounts of my time (and money!!) in Westfield at Stratford and so I just had to be involved in this campaign!!
Next really have been upping their game in the past few seasons, I have noticed as I get older I am drawn to homeware alot more and have just been lusting over all the shabby chic (how very ‘the apprentice’ of me!) and all the British style that has taken over their homeware pages. I am also just loving the Geri Halliwell for Next collab with the iconic Union Jack dress back better than ever! I know some might call it tacky but come on who wasn’t proud to be British when they saw Geri rock that dress the first time round? I am lusting over the Union Jack Maxi Dress which just screams heritage cool.
Now Laura very kindly sent me the Olympic Games Scarf to help me put together something together. I really loved the idea of showing a bit of support for our Olympic hopefuls and also for the massive team behind the running of the Olympics all over out great nation (remember it isn’t just in London that events will take place, this will be a massive thing to pull together and we are all in it together). As a tourism student I know first hand how important mega events like the Olympics are for regenerating struggling communities, for bringing in huge amounts of tourists and for helping to boost the economy. It is also a great way to bring communities together and to show the world what an amazing sense of pride we have for sport and how well we put on a show 😉
Take a look at how I will be wearing my Olympic Scarf in support of our great nation. The scarf is such a chic way to show some support. I personally don’t love the whole ‘a union jack threw up on me’ look with face ‘tattoos’ and jewellery etc, so this just works perfectly. I also think the mini scarf which I have would be soooo cute as a little bandanna on the kiddies to protect them from the sun!! I noticed lots of the head scarf looks on the supporters page but I wanted something a little different. By twisting the scarf you get the red white and blue swirled together. I think it is soooo powerful as it just screams British pride as soon as you see it! My fav look 🙂
How much does this look make you want to be an Air Hostess back in the Pan Am days? So chic!!
I like the idea of just looping the scarf through your bag and having it blow in the wind, so simple but very fashionable, I have noticed scarfs are being used on bags alot at the moment 🙂
If you want to show some support for London 2012 then you can purchase the small scarf (the one I am wearing) for £5 or the large version for £10 here!
