Effective Ways to Make Your Home Much More Comfortable

21/09/2022 · charlotte evans · 0

A comfortable home that the whole family can relax in is something that most of us aspire to, but it is not something that is always easy to achieve.

If you are struggling to make your home as comfy as it could be and you want some help, check out my suggestions for a much more comfortable home below, take whatever inspiration you need and leave the rest behind.

Clear the clutter

It’s hard to really relax and enjoy your home when the is a lot of clutter and mess everywhere you turn. It’s really easy to amass more stuff than you can find a place for, especially when you have a family, but there is something you can do about it in the form of decluttering. Get rid of anything you don’t need or love and you will have a lot more space and a lot less peace-distributing clutter to have to wade through. Your home should be beautifully curated.

Invest in area rugs

If your home is not carpeted throughout, something that will undoubtedly make it feel more comfortable, especially in the cooler months of the year, are area rugs. Big, fluffy area rugs will help to warm up the room and keep your feet toasty while also adding colour and texture to the space, so there really is no downside to using them in any room that has an uncarpeted floor, whether it be a tiled kitchen or a hardwood living room floor.

Install a rainfall showerhead

There;’s nothing like a hot shower to make you feel relaxed after a long day at work or school, so the whole family will definitely appreciate it if you take the time to install a high-pressure rainfall showerhead that will massage their heads and bodies with warm water whenever they step into the shower. They’re pretty cheap and pretty easy to install, so why not treat yourself?

Put a solid roof on your conservatory

If you are lucky enough to have a conservatory, then you will know that although the extra space is very welcome and it can be lovely sitting in there when the weather is just right, the conservatory is not always the most practical room. It can get too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, which means it is not always as comfy as it should be.

One thing you can do to change that right now is to install one of these solid conservatory roofs which help to insulate the conservatory so that it is comfortable to sit and read a book in, or play lego with the kids in, or whatever, whenever you want all year round. It’s a great investment.

Upgrade to Egyptian cotton

Most of us will spend approximately one-third of our lives in bed, so it is so important that we feel comfortable when we’re there. Egyptian cotton sheets are, then, a very good choice because not only are they soft and stylish, but they are also very breathable, unlikely to make you itch, and so luxuriant that, once you’ve slipped between them, you will never look back again.

Landscape the garden

Spending as much time as possible outdoors where you can breathe in fresh air and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature is so good for your health and wellbeing that landscaping the garden will be a healthy move for all the family. Invest in some comfortable garden furniture, plant a few easy shrubs and flowers and install an awning to offer some shade and that’s really all you need to be more comfortable in your home’s outdoor space.

Create quiet nooks

No matter how much we all love our families, we all need some peace and quiet from tie to time so find a quiet nook, whether it be the recess under the stairs or a quiet corner in the living room and turn it into a rest and relaxation nook with a comfy chair, some string lights and maybe a shelf of books to pick up and dive into.

Add a security system

Of course, most people feel more comfortable in their homes when they know that they are safe and secure from outdoor threats, which is why it is never a bad idea to think about installing a security system, even if it is just a basic burglar alarm. Doing so will give you more peace of mind whether you’re cooking, playing or sleeping so it is definitely worth the small amount of outlay it will cost you.

Here’s to a much more comfortable home!
